Cinema Paradiso Love Theme

Here it is, this week’s special! This is the beautiful love theme from the 1988 movie “Cinema Paradiso” arranged by Scott! I (Clare) knew the soundtrack to this movie really well, but it was only for getting an inspiration for filming this week’s video I finally watched the movie! Our 50’s look was for this video! As for the visuals, I am continuing to try our new cinematic style, how do you like it?!

We watched the movie a day or two before the filming day, so we had to come up with ideas for how to film the story part of this week’s video. Because Cinema Paradiso presented films and the movie industry, we thought we could somehow incorporate that. Since my learning of more editing possibilities from editing Happy Birthday, Schubert, I thought what if we put ourselves into the movie itself?!

The morning of the recording day, we searched through our closet, and this is the closest we could get to 50’s look! The music part was done first, and then we planned out how to record the intro. As we were recording the part where Scott presses the button on the DVD player, we were joking and wondering if kids nowadays know what a DVD player is! (Haha…)

This beautiful arrangement by Scott is really faithful to the original soundtrack. Even when practicing it, I think of moments from the movie and feel very touched by it.
