Our opera “debut”…..

Here it is, our opera “debut”! A short behind the scenes at the end! Never have we imagined we’d ever do anything like this.........

Well, so here is a little back story about why...

I (Clare) was in charge of the secondo (bass part), and he was playing the treble part. Since this opera was a duet between a man and a lady, he thought it was strange to have me play the bass and to have him play the treble. We had already learned this piece for a few concerts beforehand, so we were a bit hesitant to switch parts…(or more like I was hesitant! haha…) So finally one day Scott came up with this idea of us pretending to sing the opera taking the male and the female roles!

When it came to filming the singing part, I couldn’t stop laughing! It was hard for me to keep a straight face! I was going to find some stock footage of a choir, and this is when Scott brilliantly said “We should mutiply ourselves!” Of all of our lives, we had NEVER imagined we would have to “perform” like this! So we filmed and laughed and finally we finished filming! We changed into several performing outfits and filmed ourselves in front of the green screen to make up the chorus in the back. It did look very “interesting” I must say! What do you think?!
